The first thing I would check is drivers. If I remember correctly, it's Windows XP you have isn't it?

Click on start and Run. Type in 'compmgmt.msc' in the box then click ok. This will bring up Computer Management. On the left hand pane/section click through the menus 'System Tools' and 'Device Management'. Plug the Lexia in. Does the page refresh? Do you get any question or exclamation mark symbols?

The copy Lexia can be a frustrating thing! I've often embarrassed myself when going out to someone’s car only to spend 30 minutes getting the thing to work!

Make sure you are using the USB which was used when the Lexia was installed. Also, always make sure the USB is plugged in before the laptop is turned on. They are the usual causes for connection problems.

Thanks Chris. Yes, I am using the original port although I have tried it in the other one just in case. It says 'something else may be using the programme'? Its never done this before, it happened after I had inadvertantly left it switched on for a couple of days.

You're right there Chris, mine started playing silly buggers last night so I dug out my Lexia 2 to get the job done.

Hmm, no problems with mine yet, touch wood...

Peter - are you running an old version of Lexia by itself or do you have Diagbox which then launches Lexia from within it ? On the latter I find that I always have to unplug the USB cable to my interface and reconnect it AFTER launching diagbox, but BEFORE clicking on the Lexia button to launch the actual Lexia app.

If I don't, I always get a message saying something like unable to communicate with the interface. Try that and see if it helps...

Simon - no I don't have Diagbox, mine is a pretty old setup. I will do the check that Kevin suggests when I get a minute, only I'm a bit busy at the moment.

Ah, I've had this when pressing the button to open Lexia more than once. It seems to open up in the background, though a restart should have cured that.

They are not known for their reliability sadly, I've had to reinstall it a few times as it only seems to work for so long :?

Still, for the amount of times I use it, I can live with that.
