07 207 ABS fault

Post by citronut »

this car comes up with no comunication with the ABS/EPS ECU on Planet 2000,

is says "ABS BRAKE FAULT" on the display and several warning lamps are on also the speedo does not work

one fault code is P0500 relating to a speed sensor, but if the ABS ecu is not communicating, i would think the speed sensors are out of action,

according to the hand book there is ment to be a maxi fuse No.3 doe the ABS but i cant find it,
i have tested the other fuse's related to the ABS and they are ok

The maxi fuses are under the main under bonnet fusebox, you have to lift the fusebox out to get to them, this will be the main power supply to the ABS unit, if it doesent have that then it wont comunicate with planet.
Dont know the 207 that well but if its like the C4/307 there will be a black 'double' relay (looks just like the old injection system/fuel pump relays) near the under bonnet fusebox for the ABS system aswell.

ok
now i have shoved my DIS-LEXIA/PLENET uthis 207, it keeps saying ABS ECU no comunication, so me being not sure which way to go from here, we took it to the local pug dealer just realy to clarify the diagnosis,
they came up with the same as i did, then checked the wiring, fuse's and every thing for water ingress,
they say it requires a new ABS ECU at around £800 quid, i suspect that mean if they install it it will be there time on top of that,

were is it located, as i could not see it on looking under the bonnet ( blind as a bat   )

is there a reliable company for repairing these ECU's if so can i have there contact details

If its the same as the 307/C4/C3 its in the n/s/f wheelarch behind the bumper where the foglights would be. Perfectly sited to catch all the water spray from the road.

You can reconfigure the ecu's but u have to find one first, we have had a few repaired, but lately each one we send away comes back as scrapped. We usually only replace the ECU part, as this is about 3or 4 hundred pounds. It is worth checking the wiring, but most seem to be the actual unit. The speedo works through the ABS sensors on these cars.
The configuration parameters are only, wheel size, tyre size and brake config ie Discs or drums at the rear.

had another look at this 207 today,
pulled the plug off the ABS ECU the is power at pin's 1 and 20,

what should i expect when detaching the ECU from the ABS block,

will lot of bits go twang/ping, or even lots of brake fluid try to escape its an ATE MK70

Clean the area around the block where the 2 parts meet before you seperate them so no crap gets in, make sure you pull the ECU of squarley as there are 'fingers' that line up with holes on the ECU (you will see what i mean when you remove it). No fluid will come out as the hydraulic part is seperate & nothing will fall out.

Hi, I have a 207 1.4HDi 2009 and got a 1380 ABS Error code. I pulled the connector of the ABS pump ECU and measured voltages. I do have 12V on pin 1 and 20 but I read somewhere that also pin 14 should have 12V, which I don't have. Pin 14 is connected to pin 11 on Fuel/ABS Relay. The relay is working but supply to pin 11 is coming from pin 1 and is missing 12V. I just have a small part of wiring diagram showing a red wire named BMF3B connected to pin 1. I don't know where to BMF3B is coming from, anyone have an idea?
