Just bought a 2008 Citroen C5

Post by evoke »

New to this forum so I thought i'd say Hi. Bought a high-miler 2008 C5 last week as a car for commuting. Delighted with it so far. Had new pads and discs all round today and two new front tyres, plus the removal of the remnants of a tow-bar, tidying up of the wiring and a couple of bits of A-pillar trim that needed sticking down (looks like the car has had a new windscreen in its past and the fitter broke the clips to the external A-pillar trim so it was flapping around at speed).

The ride quality is truly amazing and the seat comfort is spot on. It's a 2.2 diesel so i'll be watching the fuel economy.

Things on my To-Do list: aircon 'bomb' cleaner, figure out a way to get my iPod connected, new mats and good interior clean.

Don't expect good economy, the 2.2 is a bit thirsty. I get 45 - 48 mpg on mixed motorway dual carriageway. I expect I could get a little more but I'm not a particularly economic driver. The comfort is superb though. You should have sockets in the glovebox for connecting things, not sure if it's MP3 or what, I don't use them. Is it an Exclusive?

^ Yes, it's an Exclusive. I spotted the phono sockets in the glovebox so will try to get my iPod connected to them.

Think they might need to be "enabled" but not sure, as mine were already enabled. What sort of spec does yours have? I think mine has everything except Xenons. I've done around 5000 miles in mine since June last year and I absolutely love it.

Spec-wise it's okay. Part-leather seats and (non-Xenon) headlamps that turn. Dual-zone climate control, sunroof, rear parking sensors, auto-lights and wipers and that's about it. However, it has had a Parrot Bluetooth kit fitted that works fine. There's no satnav but I use my Android phone for that anyway.

Try jumping into an Acadiane :-({|=

You'll find loads of things to play with...i did :)

If when you scroll through 'source' on stereo Aux Input comes up, it's enabled, mine was.
however i found that the volume on device inputted has to be cranked up to 11/10ths
maybe with an iThingy this may not be case?

^ Thanks for that. I haven't had a chance to check yet - what if 'Aux Input' does not show as a source, is it easy to enable it?
