Fitting series 2 door panels to a series 1 Xantia

Post by mirafioriman »

I've bought a set of exclusive door panels to fit to my series 1 Xantia. I'm sure I read that they fitted but you have to drill a hole in the door somewhere.

Can someone please enlighten me as to where the hole has to be drilled and what screw it holds please?

:) :) :)

Ive done it and it was probably me who wrote it..

if you lift open the door bin lid that doubles for the lower door handle and look at the edge nearest the end the screw hole is hidden behind the handle... you need to drill a corresponding hole in your door to the end screw hole... i think the original retaining torx head screw fits fine without going in too far but just check as you do.. the middle screw is in the same place as the s1 door handle is and is also hidden at the other end of the lift out handle.. at the base of the sloped section of the door handle...I get the feeling you may need to remove the redundant plastic screw grab that's in the door for the old door card as its no longer needed ..

drill the new hole just right for the original screw to grab and make its own grip.. its only a retainer as the upper and middle ones are the ones needed for closing the door from in the car...

do you follow that?? hope so. its not easy trying to explain where hidden screw holes are...

Thanks I know where the hidden screw holes are as I removed the series 2 door panels from the donor car myself. I've started (see my thread on water leaks and upgrades) Think I'm going to see my Citroen dealer and see if i can get some new trim clips and bits and bobs for them before I fit them as I'm trying to eradicate any rattles and do the job properly for once :)
