Boot Water leak in a Xantia Estate (X Reg model ('00))

Post by kentc5 »

Hello guys,

Can someone tell me where the well known leak ... is coming from, for certain is not from the boot floor as I took off the matt to dry it off and there is no hole etc ... everything is very clean.
The water seems to gather on the inside of the rubber as you look the car from the rear bottom right section and it seems to be coming from inside the boot door ??? :( :( :( but from where though.

Does anyone know where the estates usually have a weak point of taking in water?

Cheers in advance
Vasilis.

It's the seal on the plastic liner on the door. Take off the cover (about 20 screws - including 2 inside the hatches that access the lights - unplug the cross connecting wire in here first, as it is stuck in behind the sound deadaning, and otherwise you end up with the liner balanced on your head whilst you try and unplug it!) Then remove and re-seal the liner underneath. VertVega gives some info on it in this thread about the rear wiper: Rear wiper repair
