Replacing leaf springs

I've got a 2004 Peugeot Boxer SWB and Robins and Day charged me £1,093 to fit 2 rear leaf springs that I supplied. (£300)
I'm sure the cost of the tools to do the job myself would be a lot cheaper, but is this a job you can do on the drive, even with the right tools?

i dont know what if any complications might be involved, but would have thought it can take more than two hour's a side at the very out side,

what special tools could be required?????

Is this some really complicated super design of van or something?!

Not changed leafs for years, did a Commer van years ago, took 1/2 hour per side, maybe a little more. Changed both sides more than once on my Grandad's Reliant Robin, piece of cake. 30 mins per side max.

Could not think of anything either. I do recall there was some special tool for the front wheel bearings on these, although what it was I cannot remember, possibly something for the preload.

Robins and Day's hourly rate is £93.
They justified the high cost by saying two men had to do the job.
I've got a formal complaint in to their head office, still waiting for a reply 2 months on.
Anyway, next time I'll do it myself, I was hoping that it's not a difficult job although I can't see how it can be.

i'd ask citroen UK how much the job should be, without letting on you have had the job done already
