Facelift C5 (Mk 2) door mirror

Post by Philjw »

Hi All,
After a slight altercation I need to replace the drivers door mirror on the 2005 C5 Exclusive. Dealer says £205 plus the price to paint it. There is one from a 2001car on ebay. Does anyone know if this would fit the 2005 model?

And is there a way to stop the search on here ignoring C5 from search terms?

I don't know about the mirror, but the reason that C5 (and Xantia, amongst others) is ignored is that you would have hundreds of hits (probably thousands) on a search within the forum. There are (currently) six references to C5 in this post, if you include the ones in this sentence and your signature.

Hi,
I found a source of "genuine" citroen mirrors in Merton for a quarter of the dealer price. Hmmm. :)
Now I need to know where to find the paint code. Can anyone help me with that?

Hi Oneday,
Thanks for that.
Is the paint code going to be numbers or letters? Does EYTC sound right? It's grey metallic

A lot of motor accessory shops, can sell you the paint concerned over the counter in an aerosol can. A few light applications, letting each coat dry, should do the job. However this is not the sort of weather to paint anything, unless you are doing the job in a closed shed. If it is a passenger side mirror, ensure that you do not discard it without removing the sensor, that is the small bubble object on the bottom of the mirror - it can be fitted into your new mirror - if the new one is minus a sensor.(it gives you the outside temperature readout) The wiring will be obvious when you remove the old mirror casing.
