Lights?

Post by CaptainCoddy »

Hi all,
I own a Xsara Picasso 02 and for some reason the lights are switching themselves on and off as i'm driving. The lights are switched off, but turn on intermittently. What would cause this? :)

Not that i am aware of, and there is nothing in the manual to suggest there is.

Look on the windscreen for sensors for lights and autowipers, most likely where the rear view mirror attaches to the screen.

It sounds like the same problem as the C5s get, which is caused by wear in the switch unit. I tend to work around it by driving with the sidelights on all the time, the headlights don't seem to come on randomly when the sidelights are on.

I'll go with oneday on this. Sounds like automatic headlights to me. My C5 does this every time I drive under a bridge or down a tree lined road. Easy way to check is at night - do the lights come on by themselves within 5 seconds of starting the car?
