C5 Seat upgrade

Post by jelly »

Hi I want to upgrade my seats but not sure if the wiring is present for heated seats etc does anybody else Know :?: Ps It is a 2003 Hdi Exclusive wanted to fit electric heated seats but haven't got time to do the wiring if it is not already there, seats come with door cards so that wont be a problem.

Thanks again, will have to wait until I get them its just that once they are fitted I need to be able to move them back and forwards and don't think I can do that without power so was trying to be prepared as I don't want to keep putting them in and taking them back out again.

I think it's a 40A or 80A maxi fuse.. it goes in the side of the under bonnet fuse box, there is a space for it..
but you need to lift the fuse area out of it's plastic housing a bit... I struggled with this, think I may have broken a contact within the board, and the car was immobilised for a few days (I thought something else to do with standby mode was causing the problem)

I dont have my manual to hand to be sure on the exact location or current protection.

That was I think all I needed to get my seats to work.. (there are a couple of mini fuses in the fuse bay in glove box, but i think mine were already there, as you found with yours..

Thanks have got the seats now unfortunately somebody has cut the connector off the passenger seat so would like to get this before I fit seats so will try and get the fuse in and check that the power is getting to the cable but car needs to used all the time so not much time to mess about!

Sounds like you have grounds for a bit of a refund. If you bought electric seats, surely the connector is part of the deal? I would be most annoyed at buying an electric iron without a plug, seems like the same thing to me.
