Anti pinch fault HDI Exclusive

Post by isisalar »

After a bit of a fight and being supplied the wrong part initially, I managed to re connect my rear electric window glass to the regulator and is now operating ok but if the one touch is used, when the glass reaches the top it bounces straight back down again. By stopping the glass a few inches down and then raising it bit by bit it goes right up no problem. The words 're initialize' popped into my head immediately, I think from my days aquiring BMW product knowledge, there's no procedure in the handbook.
Any ideas anyone?
Kind regards
Paul

Operations to be carried out : After repair

4. Electric window motor
It is necessary to reinitialise the sequential and anti-pinch functions .
N.B. : If the window is down at the time of reconnecting the battery, action the window switch several times to raise it, then carry out the initialisation procedure .
Lower the window completely .
Press and release the electric window switch until the window is completely closed .
This operation is to be performed on each of the electric windows .
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Many thanks for that Gibbo. That will certainly be my first job tomorrow. I presume the ignition is turned off and then on again after?
Thanks again
