HOW MUCH!!!!!!!!!

Post by isisalar »

Was in a Citroen indy getting the heights on my Xantia adjusted yesterday. They had an early C4 coupe in and the problem was that the dashboard display had turned itself upside down! Apparently this is not repairable and a replacement costs--------
ELEVEN HUNDRED POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so glad I stuck with Xantia's.
Kind regards

I want to hear what Wheeler or Lighty have to say on that one.

I'm assuming the rest of the car was shiny side up.

If you look on 'Honest John' it seems that the average repair costs more than I pay for a car

Really?

I'd never pay £1100 for the new display as that's simply ridiculous. Second hand from a breaker would surely be a fraction of the cost.

Never had to buy one, but nothing surprises me these days, was told a C3 bsi unit that was £800 yesterday , there is going to be lots of money made by electronics repairers in years to come.

Either that or these electrical gremlins will put cars into an early grave. Which I'm sure is planned ...

Just been quoted £3k to replace the stereo in our 54-plate C5 estate, thought about it, then politely declined!

You could buy half a dozen spare cars for that, remove the stereos and bin the rest.

Fit an aftermarket stereo, you can get a good one for £50 and as they now have a rotary volume control you don't really need the remote, you can get an adaptor to use it but that will be about another £40.
