Hi.
I have a 2002 Exclusive 16v 2.0l petrol Automatic, with sat-nav fitted.
Yesterday I got a message on the colour multifunction display saying “Engine Anti Pollution System Fault”. This is with my local garage now who I found out has a lexia tester so can check it for me.
But over the weekend while this board was typically offline I started to wonder two things and wonder if someone can answer questions on them:
1) Does my C5 have an ODB port? I ask as I have a bluetooth connector that I used on my 2004 Nissan Primera before the engine blew. I have looked for an ODB port but cannot see one, so I am guessing not and it was a way for Citroen to get more money out of you by forcing you to go back to them for a test.
2) When I look at the on-board computer - if I go into the On-board computer menu (bottom right of the menu screen) which gives the Route 1 / Route 2 displays on screen, and then hit the select button to bring up the submenu there is an option for “Vehicle Diagnostic” but I cannot see how to access it as selecting it does nothing and the manual does not mention it. Is this something linked to the lexia test or something separate? I ask as my old Primera had something similar which would flash out the error code on one of the dash lights which could be looked up - can the C5 do this?
Thanks
Max

Of course theres an OBD socket. Open the glove box, and pull the cover on the left for the fuse box.. The plug is in there nicely hidden..

Re: Yet another C5 question
Hmmm I remember looking in there, Half the glove box is a large jump with some video in ports and some fuses sticking out with no over on them and like a little pouch/pocket at the bottom. I saw nothing that looked like an ODB port there as well, unless it is behind something else.citroenxm wrote:Of course theres an OBD socket. I will have to look tomorrow when I get the car back
Thanks

My guess is it will be a self check and it checks the bulbs for you. headlights side lights indicators etc etc.... when the cursor is on it press the scroll button down to enter...

Re: Yet another C5 question
I did that and it does nothing that I can see. Tired pressing it quick, long press - for some reason holding the menu button and pressing it.... cannot see that it does anything.
I wondered if it was a multi-press thing to enter it. To get to the dianostics/settings menu on the Primera you have to hold one button down and turn one of the dials to the left to get in. I wondered if this was one of those quirky things or related to the lexia and will only work when that is connected...

That thing isn't much use, it tells you what faults you have when you have faults.
And when you have faults, real or imagined, it says so at start-up.

Re: Yet another C5 question
So presumably it just re-displays things like the "2 tyre pressure sensors missing" and the "engine Anti-pollution system fault" errors I see at the moment, if I was able to get it to do anything at all then?Clogzz wrote:That thing isn't much use, it tells you what faults you have when you have faults.

Re: Yet another C5 question
Yes, when you push and hold the button when it says 'check control' on the display, it will tell you about the tyre sensors and anti-pollution fault.
