Depends on if it's a 90 or 110....

Post up the lat 8 digits of the VIN and we can check on service.citroen.

Hi, I've just changed my brake pads on my Xantia Estate HDI 110 and the calipers are Bendix.

I got a set of premium brake pads from GSF for £35 and they were easy to fit, with the longest part of the job was winding the piston back into the caliper.

Just give the registration of the car to the motor factors and they should confirm what pads you need, or have a look on ebay if you don't want them urgently like me.

Cheers

I don't believe it,they gave me the wrong pads...didn't realise till i had the wheels off and looked...they were like a third smaller than what was on the car :(.Now where am i gonna find a set of pads for my HDi on a sunday..Really pissed me off...needed them done this weekend..Also the haynes manual was wrong about how to remove the pads it said there was a pin with a clip through but there wasn't,i had to undo a little bolt at the back of the caliper,Also what do guys use to return the piston back,i know you turn it but what do you use ?

Thanks

Only fitted to HDi 110, 2,1TD, V6 and late Activas in the Xantia, don't know if they fit anything else.

carparts4less have got Pagid ones in stock for £34.20 delivered, usually come in 2 days.

Looks like the same as the pads I replaced on the front of my HDI 110 Xantia, they are also used on the V6 Xantia.
Brake disc should be 288mm diameter.

They are not rare, you just seem to have been unlucky and served by muppets (several times :( ).

You can get away with carefully using a large flat blade screwdriver to wind the piston back in but if you intend keeping the car, the pukka tool is less than £20 and saves a lot of faffing around.

Good luck with the job in this weather.

Thanks Guys..electronmirror i have just bought the tool you mentioned and am doing them pads tomorrow even if it is 3 ft deep in snow, assuming they have the right ones for me...mind you i did show them the picture i posted on here and they looked in there brake pad catalogue so fingers crossed..I do believe these are bendix pads but could be wrong as the printing on the back of the pad was a bit worn.
thanks again
Timmy :)

here is a useful web site for checking brake parts

select your specific model in the list and click on there part No., it brings up a drawing of that pad

Could of told you halfords will give you the wrong ones before you even bothered...

RHY 90 bhp engines use the older TD front pads...
RHZ 110bhp use the V6/ 2.1 TD front pads because of the more power and slight more weight in them...

Estates use a different sort again.

Your VIN on the top of the drivers wing would have told us which ones you'd need, as the Xantia S2 HDi VINs have either the RHY or RHZ depending on which engine is fitted...

Looks like you have a HDi 110 RHZ car from those pads... I know that as the anti rattle spring is incorporated into the Pad, where the 90bhp and TD pads dont have them...

Its something they are rather good at. Bunch of time wasters unless you want a touch up paint but thats hit & miss as well.
