C5 Washer Jets

Post by C5-VTR »

Hi,

I am looking to buy a replacement washer jet for my C5 (2004 VTR 1.8), the passenger side went from working to not working. Looks to be blocked up. Can't find anything on ebay, does anyone have the part number as might have to order from Citroen.

Also I know I need a new pump as when spraying the rear it comes out the front and spraying the front comes out the rear... Going to order http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360548631365" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; if this is the correct one, can anyone confirm?

Thanks

I've had a similar problem. Got the warning message that fluid was low. Refilled bottle, now rear works fine but front nothing. I get the odd bubble out of the jets but nothing else. assume pump is F"%$&ed. Am i right in thinking it is a bumber off job to fit a new one.

its behind the righthand side of the bumper infront of the wheel. mine has gone to but works on the front even when you operate the rear wash it comes out of the front washers. so no rush mine can wait for better weather.

I will get that pump ordered I think anyhow to solve the rear washer issue. The one I posted looks the same as a genuine one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230582005508" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Anyone know where I can get a front washer jet or a pair from other then Citroen?

Cheers.

Check to see if you can hear the pump running before buying a new one. Its more commonly a blocked non return check valve that stops the water getting through, pull the hose off either side of the valve to see if water is running through ok.

Could also be crap in the reservoir clogging the pump or flapper valves.

I have ordered a replacement pump as it's not worth the hassle of removing the bumper to get to the pump to find out it's had it. Under £6 inc delivery.

Can't find any washer jets on eBay, I will keep looking.

Just need to get these stupid squeaky wipers fixed now!

That's mk2 :( Shame.

With my car being a 2004 it has the factory fit flat blades (Side pin fitting)

Someone said to try and bend the arm a little so the blade fits flusher with the screen which should reduce the noise.

Got the new pump fitted (Was pretty stright forward once the front bumper was removed, which was easier then I thought it would be - 4 screws under, 4 screws on top and 2 at the sides)

Tested the old pump with the hoses removed, when spraying the rear it comes out of both outlets, so the new pump was fitted (After removing the bottle to give it a bit of a cleaning out. various bits of black gunk came out)

Tested the new pump and when spraying the rear it only comes out of the rear so cable ties the hoses on as the fit was not as tight as the old pump.

However for some reason when you spray the rear its still coming out of the front.

Before I fitted the hoses to the pump I did blow thought them to make sure they was clear, front was fine, however the rear wasn't so I am guessing thats it's blocked somewhere along the line - Any one got any idea's?

BTW if anyone needs a new pump they can be had for £3.99 from HK http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261153027997" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or £5.65 from UK http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360560103554" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
