Just for a laugh.. I decided to goto We buy any car for a valueation...

For my V reg Exclusive HDi, no history, and 230k on the clock.... they valued my car at... Yes you DID NOT GUESS it... £75 quid..

I also did Sarahs Clio.. She has an 05 Black Clio 1.2 16v 3dr Extreame. 130k on the clock. Valued at £565 quid!

I did the same with my Mercedes W126 420 SEL once. I think mine was worth £50 according to them when it would have scrapped for around £200

just tried mine 2003 2.0hdi vtr 106000 on the clock £505 dont forget the £50 they charge to rip you off if you do the deal just an extra kick in the crown jewels so you know you have been totaly ripped off

A bit cheeky asking them to value cars that are deep into banger territory and expecting anything more than £75, after all they are a business and if you took any of these cars to a dealer/trader and asked them to take them in as a straightforward purchase without buying a car then you'd be lucky to get anyone to even make you an offer let alone much more than £75 as I'm sure they'd look at them as scrap value as the risk/cost of retailing them doesn't make business sense, who on earth would offer a warranty on a 230k Xantia?

That's about what a trader would give you for a part-exchange on it. I ran mine through it, £550. That's about right for trade, which is all they are really.

Friend of mine got rid of a Toyota Rav-4 via them, simply because he wanted rid and it was quick. Yes, he has too much money.

Yes, so do I, but traders have to make a living like the rest of us and for some people it's more convenient.. If you can afford to miss a few hundred quid, it's often easier just to trade in than have a trail of scallies and dodgy people test driving your car while you try to get rid of it. eBay is a total nightmare for that..
