Clio-P0136 O2 Sensor

Unread post by NewcastleFalcon »

Hello

My daughter's Clio 1.2 16V (engine D4F 722) has a fault code P0136 with the accompanying emissions light.

O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

I intend to put the car on ramps and have a look at the wiring and connectors first, but need to prepare for replacing the rear o2 sensor. Looking around the internet new sensors are anything from £30 upwards with Eurocarparts offering NTK (appear to be part of NGK) sensors for £72.

It would appear that the pre-cat and post-cat sensors from the NGKpartfinder are the same.

If anyone could confirm this from perhaps the Renault equivalent of "Service-Citroen" it would be helpful.

kind regards

Neil

Had a look underneath at the downstream o2 sensor on the pipe after the catalytic converter, and the wiring. Connections and wiring visually and mechanically OK. Reset the fault code and fault has not reoccurred as yet.

With all the rain and flooding and pools of water all over the place, maybe the electrical connections got a good drenching triggering the code and the light.

Depends how universal universal is, and how handy you are with cutting and joining the right wires!
