c5 estate tailgate keeps opening!

Hi folks. I'm hoping someone can help me with this problem. I have a 2002 diesel estate and the last week each time I open the door to exit the tailgate opens as well. When I use the fob to open the car this also opens the tail. I have to drive with the doors locked from the inside now as I have dogs so not too safe for them!Any ideas folks? Cheers

I assume that you are refering to the rear window. Tailgate window open switch is stuck in open position, failure of this switch is quite common. If you are refering to the complete tailgate opening then again it is likely to be the switch permanently made. In both cases gaining acess to the wires and disconneting the switches will prove if it is the switches.

It is the tailgate that is opening. The window has never opened. I will try the wiring and see if that's any difference. Thanks
