c5 rear suspension strut

Hi guys

I'm new to citroen so I looking for some help... It looks like one of my rear suspension struts is leaking. It seems to be coming from the rear of the gater passenger side( ie. the part of the gather closest to the rear of the car)

I got my mechanic to replace the gaters last week and it was he who highlighted the potential leak, but at the time he said wait a few weeks... my problem is I'm not too sure how familiar he is with these cars so I just trying to get some info on the rear strut... Some one on this form said they are designed to leak and it could be a gater but I not sure is that correct ( and my gathers are new. I also believe you can get a seal kit for these...

Can anyone give me so info on these struts and common causes or failure
