Why are DI units more prone to damage when having a small drink of petrol ?
Is it just the HP pump internals really cannot stand the lack of lubrication compared to a IDI unit or is it the injectors that are going to have problems.
Having said that the thought of petrol being pressurised to that degree in a DI unit is a scary thought.
I know its the lack of lubrication for a IDI pump mainly is the issue but they do tend to survive intact in some cases when proper diesel is restored to the fuel system.
