Loss of turbo pressure

Post by dawsy 22 »

Hi all is there an easy way of checking my turbo hoses on my 2.2 c5 the car lacks power but with the windows down i can hear the air escaping i have been underneath the car and checked all the clips are tight, they all seem ok the intercooler seems ok with no oil or debris on it this problem seemed to start at the same time as i changed the swirl valve actuator,I have been back over what i have done many times just in case i missed something but after another morning on my back under the car outside in the cold i still havent rectified the problem any pointers would be much appreciated Ian
Thanks Ian

Undo the jubilee clips on the intercooler hose and look for splits where the hose has cut into the hose. Also get some soapy water in a spray bottle and liberally spray the hoses and look for bubbles coming out of pin holes indicating a leak. The intercooler is also known to leak on the bottom union where the round pipe joins the body of the I/C.
