HDI/V6 pad rattle springs NFP

Unread post by xantia_v6 »

I just tried to buy as set of these for my current V6, which for some reason rattles more loudly than my previous car. Unfortunately the part is no longer available from Citroen. Was this part ever factory fitted to any other model (to have some chance of finding the second-hand)?

There was a factory modification to adding some spring clips to quieten them down. Search around here and you should find some photos of the clips.
If you hear a rattle at the front end which sounds like a worn droplink gently pull up the handbrake enough to just tension the calipers as the car negotiates corrugations in the road surface, if the noise stops you have three options, put up with the noise, try "loading" the caliper as you tighten it or buy/fit the clips below.

Wow, never knew they exsisted..

I thought the TD 1.9 rattle springs were the ones fitted in the front, and the V6 HDi 110s have the spring in the top of the pads..

Are there one or two springs in the "kit"?

Mike, I have a set of these on my V6... In fact i think the photos are of those on my car... We could always try fabricating a set from some suitable material. I don't see it as being particularly hard to do really...
