peugeot 806 haunted indicators follow on

Post by wirdip »

Hi folks,

following my last post (regarding odd behaviour from indicators) I have fitted yet another indicator stalk. At first this worked fine (for about 20 mins) then when indicating just a solid light (no flashing) at both dashboard and indicators so I am having to click stalk on and off to get desired effect. Then following day when starting from cold everything worked fine again untill car gets warm and then solid light again. this has now happened on 3 occasions. Can anyone think what heat might effect in the indicator system, I am perplexed to say the least. Any ideas out there????????

Is it a multiplexed car?

Was the second blinker stalk, new?

Either the flasher can is dying or your used stalk is used up. Look up "dis-autoparts" in Poland for some of the cheapest blinker switches on Fleabay.

which of those would be affected by heat do you think?. Works fine when temperature inside car is cold, stops when warm.

Hard to say; gut feeling is that flasher can is more heat sensitive.

When flasher stops flashing, i.e when it gets warm, I turned on hazard lights and these are solid/not flashing as well, does this point to relay.

Quite possibly. Isn't a flasher can about £8 as a pattern part?

I suspect the relay too. I'd change that as its cheaper (even new) than another switch.
