Only over by about £5.5k?

It's not even immaculate - passenger side door trims glued on wonky and missing the section on the front wings. Hmmm...

What is the point of pissing on someone else's wares, on a public forum for car enthusiasts?

An interested buyer would either do their homework and make their own mind up about a car's value to them (and hence what they might be prepared to pay) or simply walk in like lamb to slaughter, no different to a new car purchase save for less quids in depreciation therafter. Either approach is the right of a cognisant being.

Ah well, doesn't really matter - forum go'ers are always commenting on cars for sale, they very very very rarely buy any of them anyway so doesn't matter.

This will never change I don't think...

Oh, I don't know, I think I've bought at least 3 cars from this forum. I might buy more. I might not. Who knows?

I wouldn't spend £9k on a CX, however good. It reminds me of the Saab C900s - I picked up my mint Ruby T16 for £700 back in 2005. Now similar cars are going for £4000, or at least being advertised for those prices. Completely insane. It's not £4000 worth of car at all, not compared to a properly safe modern.

The 2cv of course is the best example of this. They're great fun, I love them, but £5000+ for a really good one? BWAHAHAHAH. I think my dad paid around £2200 for his brand new back in '79

Thats a fair point Mike, BUT what IF, I know Its a big IF but what if prices of CX went like DS??

Then 9k isn't a bad price then is it??

I wish to god I had bought a DS years ago, now the prices are heading to Mortages prices!

Mind you, theres an even better CX GTi TURBO 2 manual in Bangor Down Ireland in simmilarly perfect condition for 4k..

HERE is just as nice!

I was talking about forum go'ers commenting on vehicles for sale elsewhere (eBay, Car and Classic etc). It's always been the case that these forum go'ers will comment upon a vehicle that is for sale and say it's far too dear etc etc. This is always the case and always will be. I think we've all done it at some point... Hardly any of these forum go'ers will actually buy the car that is the subject of discussion - however the new owners will probably join up afterwards.

I wouldn't pay £9K for a CX either, however people will, and have done as that is up to them. Is this CX linked above worth £8995? It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

CX prices are on the way Paul, however appear to have levelled off a little bit at the present time. Look in the right place and you can find a D worth the money.

I don't think there's any if about it Paul, they will. Just as XMs will and some Xantias will eventually...

The CX is getting a very rare car now and it's good to see the prices going up which means now there's only a few left they’re finally being properly appreciated...

Truth is, a manky Marina can be worth three grand now against which the CX looks exquisitely good value.

trims missing on rear bumper, rubber trim under headlamps missing, rear lights not flush with rear quarters, bonnet twisted :) tidy looking though.
