ZX Break Pad wear

Hi, my 1995 ZX. just noticed grinding from front near side brakes. checked the front brake pads near side to find, the pad nearest the caliper is on the metal! the other pad good as new. Iam guessing the caliper is stuck. what are my options, is it best to buy a new caliper or is it worth trying to free it ? if so, how? many thanks Terry . #-o

Sounds like it's probably a stuck slider. I had one stick on my old ZX, if I recall if you can get the slider out and it hasn't exchanged too much metal with the caliper you can just give it a good clean, grease them up and reassemble. Otherwise replacements are available as spare parts. Would love to give you more details but I can't remember how they went together - I remember the silly rubber boots on that cover the slider pins are a faff to clip back on...
