Hi all, I have recently purchased a Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.6HDI (110) Exc on a 2004 plate. How do i tell which mark of vehicle it is. Is it a 2000 - 2004 or a 2004 - 2008 I have been looking on sites to decode the VIN but they are useless.
If it helps the VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].
Many thanks
Chen.

Re: Citroen Xsara MK number
Just decode your RP number on the label on the A pillar. It used to be 4 digits but now 5.
This is mine, although it's a Xsara hatchback, not a picasso:
The RP number of my car is 9713 which is 13 June 2003. I know it was built then because when I ordered it the dealer couldn't find any in the colour and trim I wanted so I had to wait until it came from the factory.
There are various web pages which can convert RP numbers to dates. Citroen must have anticipated the 4 to 5 digit rollover as there is a zero at the start of mine.
I checked mine at this site and as long as you drop the leading zero for a 4 digit number, or enter a 5 digit number it seems to work well.
EDIT: That doesn't help OP does it. I should learn to read better. Tempted to delete but might be useful to someone..

Re: Citroen Xsara MK number
There isn't officially a Mk2 Xsara Picasso, but as Lighty said there was a facelift around 2004/5 when the 1.6HDi came in. This also coincided with a revised front bumper that has an air intake above the number plate, and the switch to multiplexed column switches (which have round rather than square ends).
