Yet another C5 gear linkage thread!

Hi all.
I'm new around here so please don't call me a useless t%#t to my face. Yet.

'51 plate C5 Hdi 110 estate.
I'm trying desperately to get hold of some gear linkage cables for it.
I've tried breakers, dismantlers, ebay. all the usual, to no avail.
I cant afford the £550ish from the local stealer, yet it's been mentioned that they are available for approx £70+vodkaandtonic.
Can anyone help me?
If it makes any difference I'm in Stafford/Stoke.

no more ideas than what you have tried.. except put in 'breaking c5' into ebay, find a private individual, and you amy get lucky..

ok well keep at ebay, look for breaking c5 in completed listings as well.. would well be worth someone getting cables for 70£ i would think..

I take it the old ones cant be made better? (I havent looked at them yet, thank goodness)
obviously try the national breakers type websites, but I am sure you have..

I received one set from a breakers this morning - broken.
Hence my plea, it just reminds me that no matter how much you might pay - if it's a monkey removing them.....

yes.. why I tend to prefer a privateer .. usually a bit more sensitive..

Or has everyone managed second hand?
(btw if I do (hahahaha) manage to find some at a price, I will offer to get a job lot if any use!)
