Specialists in Manchester/NW? Good value citroen experts?

Post by reanimation »

Following my post about a clutch change I'm keen to know of specilists in Manchester. Theoretically any mechanic can do a clutch as Xantia, must be similar to 306 but I will need other things doing eventually like maybe replacing suspension pipes and stuff like that. Theres the spere recycling guy in chorlton, does he do general stuff?

Any good tip offs will be help for me and readers, cheers

CXM - CitroenXm, I think John Means.. :-D That be me...

I do have people come to me from Liverpool.. You shouldn't need any pipe changes however, even though the Xantia pipes are coated it doesnt stop a rust spot comming up where the coat has peeled.. though I find early mk.1 cars on L and M plates seem to have the best coated pipes...

Ive got an L reg TD SX with 240k on the clock, and the last time I looked I couldn't find a single poor pipe, I was stunned!

Hiya thanks. Well that's encouraging. It's perished rubber, like the flexi return on the front strut. I bought one to do one side properly, just didn't want to risk a green blood bath on my daily if it wasn't straight forward!n  :-D

What i did do for a couple in Liverpool .. ok they bought the car from me anyway but about 6 months later it burst a small pipe under the lhm tank.. the recovery took it to a garage and they said no thanks mate.. that's specialist... so armed with a load of pipes i went over.. located the pipe. replaced it.. bled it re filled and sorted it all on their drive way..

low pressures are fine its knowing how to deal with the high pressure ones replacing them and bleeding the system through and if the pump has run dry how to prime the thing in the first place before closing the pressure screw on the regulator...

Thanks Yep, I got away with a temp fix cutting teh bad bit out. Low pressure by the look of it. Just don't like to Jack up the suspension now to agrivate it.
Clutch fitting could be my next job required. It won't work till then! :D
