A very nice looking example of a xantia estate , there's been the odd one crop up lately which have caught my eye . They really do look nice in silver 8-)

glad u dont live anywhere near me, lol i might come and borrow those seats as mine have huge holes in them thanks to the previous owner and the only pair of spares i can find are in a scrapper which has has all its windows smashed for 2 years,

good looking car tho, they do look good in silver,

if you can disable the traffic master woman as she does my head in, well she did before i found her box and shut her up permantly

just keep an eye on the boot carpet as on mine the boot started to leak and there is a big plastic thing which needs siliconing back up (its a common fault) and you end up with puddles under the rear seats if you dont get it in time

That's a nice looking car. Looks like it's been looked after!

I wholeheartedly agree with this. On our HDi I ended up paying for it because it speaks a s**t load less then it does when she wants renewing. On the motorways round here it was actually quite good though.

On the trip back from Newcastle yesterday in my newly acquired V6 a friend of mine who was with me asked "What does that button do" and pressed it. I'd forgotten just how irritating she actually is!

Do tell more about the new v6 David, I so very nearly bid but had a few minor
concerns that all added up and what tipped against it was the mileage from here!

err right if you tke the carpet bit off the boot lid there is a plastic membrane bhind it, its that that leaks if it has been moved or anything and then leeks down the inside of the boot lid and into the boot,

the below link is basically how to fix it,

http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... 11&t=24042" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and if you go to the very last post on the following thread it'll show you the membrane thing,

http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... 8&start=15" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

also while your there put some mastic/silsicon round the 4 screws and 2 bolts holding the bottom of the carpet thing up as well as i found on mine they leak as well,

It all starts from around half way down this page here:

http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... &start=120

On the next page there's a description of the Xantia that we collected.

also the traffic master bird no longer works as its a discontuinued service now, some one should tell her lol,

seriously tho if you find the lady behind the glove box, and push all the live pins out of the box end of the connector (take the box apart and multimeter them) then make sure there is no 12 volt feeds going in (from memory i think there is 6-8 pins needed to push out ) one day i'll take mine apart and take a photo and share it on here, then plug box back in or you wont have any speakers then you can just swap the switch for a nice blank and she is dead forever

The Traffic Master does not speak unless the button is pressed lol ...She does not speak randomly.
Both the C5 and the Xantia have it, and she will not dis-obey the button press ;)
So not so annoying. (I think)

I will look into the boot possible ... but I am caucious... as if it does not have any problem... will I not cause as problem by checking it?

just lift your boot carpet up and if its dry leave it alone as why fix something that aint broke if you get me,

traffic master lady was always disobaying the button press in my xantia hence why i killed her once and for all and replaced her with a just as bossy sat nav and a nice dash blank for the switch

She only speaks in mine if I turn the engine off then re-start it within a minute (or stall it).

Well going to do my first long trip after the small repairs took place lol ...wish me luck. (About 300miles round trip)
Let's the economy and punch.
One thing I like (I know call me mad lol) is that I can put in 3rd and floor it and smoke someone I do not like behind me!! hahaha
With the C5 2.2HDi I cannot do that, it's too clean that car.
