I live in Sweden and I have very basic knowledge about cars. I have a Citroen C8 2.2l 16V (3FZ 116kW) 2005 195000km.
A few months ago I replaced the release bearing at a workshop. The workshop replaced the release bearing, clutch, sliding sleeve, fork (clutch) and some part of a primary kit. The car has been great until yesterday. I was driving and suddenly it is very difficult to change gears. It's hard to shift some gears. I feel no difference if the engine is running compared to if the engine is not running.
In order (worst first)
4th gear (impossible)
Reverse (very difficult sometimes)
1st + 2nd (difficult sometimes)
3rd + 5th (often no issue)
The clutch pedal feels very soft (almost no resistance at all) but the clutch feels ok - I can use the car.
No noise/bad sound from the gearbox.
Reverse, 1st and 2nd gear works better if I have used the car.
I know that the 2nd gear's sync rings are a little bad in the box. Because I choose a driving style I very seldom experience the bad sync rings.
Is the reverse and the 4th gear somehow related in the gearbox?
Do you recognize this issue or do you have a good guess what the issue might be?
