C5 dipped beam upgrade

Post by wizzer59 »

Hi guys
Just changed both of the xenon bulbs on my C5 with these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PAIR-D2R-FACT ... 35c02c5c44 in 6000K cos one of the originals popped. Now the originals were pretty dim but the new one's are no better if not slightly worse #-o What I need to know is if anyone has any upgrade idea's please [-o<

The main beam is superb with Osram - Night Breaker plus if only the dipped were the same #-o

I've fitted aftermarket HID's as an experiment. I know by law they should have wash/wipe and levelling system fitted but we've put the car on the MOT beam testing and it passed so don't see any problems. The headlight output is much better than standard and doesn't dazzle oncoming cars due to the headlamp aim being set up correctly.

I already have them as standard, its just they are pretty pathetic, I just wondered if there were some sh*t hot replacement bulbs or more powerful bulbs someone has already tried??????

I can't be the only one who thinks the standard HIDs are sh*t

Ah my mistake, think you'll find you really get what you pay for with HID bulbs, standard bulbs will be 4300 kelvins and bright white, the higher you go up the spectrum to 9000k the less effective and bluer the light output gets. So either get 4300k not 6000k or spend more on a decent quality set from a reputable bulb manufacturer...see link below

I have standard Xexons and think they are really bright, as said you get what you pay for and you need 4300k as they should be the brightest and is what comes as standard.
