307 2.0 Hdi Abs fault

Hi all new to peugeot. Ive just got 2002 307 hdi 2.0 and abs module not working previous owner changed it but i dont think he fitted like for like numbers i was wondering if there was any way of finding out correct number for model or is there a way to dit 1 with different numbers.
Im sorry if been asked before but any help appreciated.

Hello.

It will need to go onto a Planet diag or Lexia at a push to be coded in at a minimum, it may not accept a different unit but the diag will at least allow the BSi (the 'system computer' the 307 is controlled by in effect) to be told about the replacement unit.

is there a way to find out which part number was already fitted as car is due for mot shortly and i need to find a solution if at all possible

You may be able to find out from servicebox.

http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Register and use that with your RP / Vin number to locate the part number. It should be free, the wiring diagram sections etc are paid but the part sections are usually free. If you're struggling I'll take a look.
