Hello chaps, I have a problem with my C5 which has just failed its MOT on a fuel leak. It appears to be coming from midway down the underside of the car from what looks like some kind of heat sink/exchanger. I'm not sure if this should have a cover over it but there isnt one there now.
My question is....Does anybody know what this unit is for and can it be by passed?
Thanks in advance,
Gary.

That will be the fuel cooler in the return pipe. You could bypass it for the MOT but might not be wise to keep it like that indefinitely.

Hello, Yes, that is definately the culprit....looks like the adjoining pipes are a push fit/button release...so now my question is, exactly how would you go about by passing this?
Once again, thanks for all replies!
