Just got myself a ZX Volcane TD to have a play with, unfortunately its a 5 door version but with such a small choice you take what you can get.
I'm 8 years out from leaving the UK and haven't regreted a second since leaving.
Had mainly VW mk2 golfs since I got here but recently changed the menu a bit with a Suzuki cultus Gti (Swift with more power) which was my daily before the gearbox (very fragile) gave up, on the list to fix.
Family transport is a Volvo 850R, we also have a Fiat Punto which is the misses.
When we left the UK we left behind a Passat V6TDi wagon and a modified new Mini Cooper but theres always been an eclectic mix with mk1 Golf Clipper convertable,Peugeot 305 champagne gold with a beige interior( bought for 100pound with a blown head gasket) never missed a beat always started. 3 door ZX Volcane TD, and a brand new Saxo VTR, Fiat Punto GT.
So Hi to all

Welcome Softlad
I'm now 20 years away from last having lived in Australia. Worst decision ever to have ever returned to the UK. Still miss the place
So don't you ever think about returning

Re: Hi from New Zealand
I have no intentions of returning to the UK, I'm sorry to say.
I took a 50% pay cut working but the benefits for the family are massive, I have no worries about letting my son go out
I don't avoid contact with stangers I pass in the street.
Its not paradise perfect but its fun living
