central locking problems

Post by paul-zx6r »

Hi newbie here,

i have an odd problem with the 306 i have just bought as a workhorse, the central locking wont work properly off the fob

the symptoms are

locking

it will lock fine from both the drivers and passengers door with the key

when using the fob i the doors will lock then bounce open again , the drivers door pin doesnt move at this point which i think is causing the problem

i have to then lock the doors manually with the key then i can use the fob to deadlock all the doors and indicators will flash correctly

unlocking

when i use the fob to unlock the car all doors with the exception of the drivers door will unlock , the indicators will flash , i then have to unlock the drivers door with the key

i hope i have gave enough information on the problem

thanks

Paul

Paul, I had the exact same symptoms as discussed in this thread

http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... =3&t=35879" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

turned out it was the lock unit in the drivers door which was at fault. There are quite a few other threads on similar topics but this should be a fair place to start.
It wasn't that daunting a job to undertake (or expensive) and I am now very proficient at removing a S2 Xantia drivers side front door card!

a lot of the time on the 306 it is down to one or more wires broken in the door shut

It was the central locking unit with the actuator in it.

hi,
i had just the same problem with this popup central locking system.
have just taken out the big (all in one) plug, which goes from the body to the door, clean it and spray it with WD-40 and put it back again. every thing works now as a clock.
