2001 C5 aircon compressor

How can I tell if my aircon compressor is working (the aircon isn't), does it make a noise or something.

Get somebody to turn the aircon on whilst you are under the bonnet, you will hear a click when the compressor clutch engages. If you don't heAR the click it may not mean the compressor is knackered it may mean the system needs a regass and the safety has kicked in stopping the compressor working.
