ELM 327 BLUE TOOTH

Can any one confirm if a elm 327 blue tooth obd2 adapter using to torque pro will connect to a picasso 2001 18 16v ?
Want to buy one but cant find anything that say says it is supported.

Hi, you'll be able to read basic information like engine temp/rpm, but not codes, obd2 was introduced on petrol 2002. I've got an elm327 and torque pro, great with compatible cars.

thought obd2 compliant was introduced January 2001, deisel 2004

I normally say to people 2002 to be on the safe side as I've tried it in a couple of 02 scenics without success, but you are right in saying 2001 as 2001 was the cross over year.
