Sphere suppliers

Unread post by RichardW »

Wherea are you guys getting spheres from these days? Not bought any for a (long) while, but I can't ignore them any more! used to get them from GSF, but not sure I fancy negotiating their website....

Getting the rears off might be interesting - they are probably the 11.5 years / 135k originals.... #-o

AEP Direct, or CitroenServices as they are known through Ebay.. The IFHS spheres I find are far superior then Amtek spheres, as I HAVE had hard spheres from them, and sometimes spheres that have been gassed over a year ago.. 9.8 times out of ten AEP spheres (IFHS) are never more then a few months old..

Have a look on ebay, that's where I get most of my parts now. You can get shperes from GSF on there :

Last time I checked they were on a par with gsf's old prices so another reason to go with aep :)

The other alternative is Malcolm Lockwood in Bradford. As an independent supplier of Citroen parts he has to be worth supporting. I recently bought a few spheres from him and he still has some stock of Amtek but has switched to Suplex, a German make. These are new spheres, not remanufactured and they are on a par, for price & quality, as all the other suppliers.

Hi Richard,

I got a set of spheres for the V6 from aepdirect.com. Their head office is in Rutherglen, so I just phoned ahead to see if they had stock (which they did) and picked them up directly from their offices.

They're IFHS brand and I have no complaints, they've been on the car since April. The front hydractive regulator sphere was just under a year old but the rest were only 2-3 months old based on manufacturing date codes. Better price than GSF too.

I used Vantage as well, and for a set of 6 spheres I paid a total of £148.90 (including p&p). The only thing missing was the 4.5mm pipe seal.
