My Bixe

Unread post by Junkman »

Only got it Sunday afternoon, so I haven't got around to do anything but take three pics:

The condition at first glance totally belies its got 190k mls on the clock.
All I can find seriously wrong with it are bald front tyres, a rorrrorrrorrr sound from what I think is the the right front when doing 50+ (I bet that's serious) and that the air in the tank needs to be purged with liquid coal at 1.40+ a litre...
Oh, and the clutch apparently needs adjusting.

I finally found the engine underneath two inches of muck, crud and sludge. This is after steam cleaning it for an hour or so.

Ay up!

That is very nice indeed. Well bought, Sir!

As for the bumper, an easy fix would be to pop some fibreglass behind the crack then a touch of filler in the crack. Worked on my old girl!

Yeah, now that it proved itself to be a good car, I may consider some plastic surgery.

On a different note, the non functional rev counter suddenly started working.
Apparently a bit of a French attitude towards car maintenance goes a long way with French cars.

I'm surprised Chris - they're only a baby XM

It's one Citroen I've never had the pleasure to own nor drive.

And that's not likely to change any time soon...

Junk, she's looking good 8-)

Yes, you could say that Malcolm
