Hatch or Estate? Are you sure it's washer water as opposed to rainwater?

IIRC the pipe runs up the O/S A pillar along the roof rail then into the tailgate.

On the estate just prior to the tailgate there is a plastic connector, if air enters there you will not get any wash water to the wiper.
I replaced mine with a 1 way valve pipe connector and problem solved.

Ay up!
Mine's been like this for years. If yours has the jet on the wiper hinge, then the tube through the pivot has corroded inside. You could push a piece of "suitable" rod (sorry for the Haynes moment there!
) or, if you can get one long enough, run a drill down it.
Personally I'm wondering where I could put a proper jet. Been thing for some time now, I don't rush things!
