Citroen c5 2.2 hdi ESP antipollution warning.

Post by Morris931 »

Hi I'm new to this had my c5 for about 8 months now. 1st the additive warning came up I had that topped up at my local garage and the warning went of I now have the ESP and antipollution warning coming up.
It revs to about 3.5 when it boost I can hear a noise like air escaping and it feels down on power a lot especially up hills. Any advice?
Thank you.

Sounds like you have an intercooler pipe leak, when you plant the throttle pressure builds up in the intercooler pipes causing them to split.

Which is the intercooler pipe? Would this cause the errors?

Certainly cause the loss of performance and also an emissions problem due to air escaping from the system, car will run rich. If you open the bonnet and look behind the radiator you will see another thinner radiator like piece with a large bore hose going to the bottom right hand side (from memory), this is the I/C. Check the pipe for splits and also wear where it is secured with a jubilee clip, the clip can chew through the rubber with time/heat.
