Time to fix the leaks.

Unread post by Ref »

I posted about the LHM leak on my Xantia a while ago and it has been identified as the pinion valve seals, was wondering if there's an easy way to do it???!!!

It's left hand 1.8 SX.
Thanks

Nope, a very difficult job to do and one best left to the professionals such as Pleiades...

there are people on here who have replaced the steering pinion in situe, your car being LHD i would think makes the job easier as there is a lot more space behind the gear box, as opposed to doing the job on a RHD car down the back of the engine,

I've no idea I'm afraid REF. It's a good hour to get the pinion valve out but how long to overhaul it I really cannot say. I believe John (jgra1) has overhauled a pinion valve and perhaps he can give you more of an idea of how long and how tricky...
