The heater fan on my 1999 Peugeot 306 HDI with climate control/airconditioning is blowing at a slow speed when switched off. As well as the small fan in the sensor by the roof light. All speeds work ok, but will not switch off completely when the off position is selected.
Would it be a faulty heater swich or might it be something else?

Re: 306 heater fan
If its the same blower that the 406 uses the regulator transistors have probably gone leaky.

Re: 306 heater fan
Does that mean that the switch unit is faulty or the fan? Or is it something in between?

They are in the motor housing, take it out, three screws and a couple of plugs, above the passenger side foot well.

the resistors also cause problems. i have the 1.9 dturbo so not sure if it is in the same place but the resistor is located underneath the passenger scuttle panel. mabe worth a try changing that.
