I know the earlier 2.2HDi has 136bhp out of the box and the later one was updated to 173bhp, is this purely an engine remap via the ecu or were there mechanical changes made to the engine? I've noticed from another post that the 2009 2.2 engine designation is DW12BTED4 FAP, my 2002 runs a DW12TED4 FAP so the only difference is a "B" so would it be feasible to put the ecu from a later 173bhp model into a 136bhp car and it work? I have access to Peugeot Planet/Citroen Lexia so thats not an issue, its just whether its feasible or not, any thoughts?
Andy

They are different. The 173 has twin turbos for starters.

You could still remap or power box it though.
The new 2.2 has 200 HP. Think it's still twin turbo.

There were changes to the turbo (making them twin!), the intercooler is different, the injectors are different, the flywheel is different, the air intake/induction/swirl valves are different.
