C5 Air Con

Post by corsehf »

This one is new!
The battery has just failed on my C5. Luckily, i still had the receipt for it so got it replaced however, I have noticed that the Air Con and also the Auto Headlight setting now do not work??
I have tried disconnecting the battery again and the Air Con fires up for about a minute but then goes off, none of the controls do anything.

???

Just as a reply and for no known reason? but the above problems have righted themselves, the air con became intermittent but slowly stayed on longer & longer and now seems ok?? -
Go figure?

OK, talking rubbish as normal!
The air con had gone all intermittent again last week and by the weekend has now given up the ghost.
However, when i say air con, it could be a blower issue - there is no demist option now neither.
The control panel says everything is working except for the blowers, i can just about feel heat or cold air coming from the vents but there is no blow (or sound).
Would this be just a rheostat issue??

All from a dead battery or just coincidence??

My first c5 did similar with the blowers and it was a stat or something in below the glove box, it was a we black box not much bigger than a matchbox and easily replaced cost me 45quid for the part and the mechanics time, the mechanic told me at the time it's a common fault so it may be a coincidence.

The battery isn’t to blame, the blower just carks it like on the Xantia.
The wires or the transistor need resoldering.

Can’t find a relevant topic, but this one is close:
