C5 - useful setting changes with Lexia?

Unread post by sonoramicommando »

Hi all,
There was a thread regarding C5 ride height and it can be altered to owners' preference using Lexia.
What other configurations have others changed that were found to be useful?
E.g., is it possible to re-assign a switch to a different function (e.g. say, cruise control stalk switches to operate air conditioning or operate sports mode or change ride height etc)?
thanks in advance,
sam

I've gotta ask, why on earth would you want the cruise control switch to control the air con or sport mode? :-k

Maybe setting the cruise to aircon turns it into automatic air con?

Thats called climate control, available on the SX models upwards. I wanna control the wing mirror adjustment with the rear window winder switch!

In a situation of estrangement or imminent divorce, imagine the soon-to-be-ex tootling down the road, car is a bit warm inside so she switches on the AC. All of a sudden it gains speed to the preset of 100MPH, causing a fatal crash. Problem solved.

Ooh how about a random setting for those boring long motorway journeys?

Or an annoyed setting where the horn and lights flash when breaking hard to avoid people?

Years ago when the BMW 8 series came out it was the first multiplexed car, i believe. And often when it rained or you went in a car wash the windows would go down.
Only yesterday a customer told me her 14 month old BMW has been a few days at the dealers because everytime it rains, the windows go down. Progress.

Yea, that'll be right. Don't get me started...

What’s the opposite of progress? Because whatever it is. it applies. Regress? Yea, that sounds good.

'Modern cars represent significant levels of regress when compared to their forebears...' Now why does the C5 really come to mind here

lol - you might want to delete your post, police might get on your case...
btw i meant cc switch to control ac not the other way round - i dont know about you but i find adjusting ac settings/temp while driving always distracting.

lol - random setting...
i think horn/light flash is just a logical progression from the existing C5 feature of hazard lights coming on when braking hard!

on the contrary to the impression most got from OP, it was a serious question!!!
i guess it's not possible - still, all is not lost, we had a good laugh at least....

The Lexia is limited to what it can do, it can turn on any accessories which your car was not fitted with, it can also disable things you might not want (silly tyre pressure sensors for example). However it can not reprogram the switches or anything in anyway similar.

Its is a very useful diagnostic tool, but will only get your car to standard configuration and help you get back there should there be a problem with your car.

Indeed, like most modern cars, the C5 is too complex for its own good! This im sure is a plan, 'they' want us to be buying new car after new car. Its no good if our cars last over 10 years or 100K miles is it?!?  Of course it is but the people at the top need us to buy new cars and with their sense of humor think modern cars are better for the environment too.
