Xantia Specific Photo Request, SVP

Post by addo »

I need a picture of the rear subframe on an estate. Particularly, where the Hydractive and anti-sink spheres are bracketed onto a Series 2 Exclusive. A Series 1 VSX estate may have the same piping arrangement.

Thanks, Adam.

Adam,

I dont think anything EVER moved positions at the rear hatch or estate, S1 or S2. The anti sink certainly never did and has always been central. As the exhaust is on the left, theres no other place but the right side to put the Hydractive block...

So I think its quite feasable to say S1 VSX and S2 exclusives will be the same. The issues are at the front, I found a 2.1 TD Exclusive and a S1 V6 do have different shaped pipes at the front and the hydractive block is mounted at a different angle on the V6.. possibly due to the fact the radiator hoses both enter and return in that area..

There are no Hydractive estates here, and the hatch I took my rear HA electrovalve from has this mounted onto a welded-on bracket on the rear subframe - a piece not found on estates.

All estates have the same rear subframe, so it's just that I want to see how the Hydractive is mounted/bracketed without there being extra welded bits.

Its mounted and welded on the same way as the hatch subframe Adam... I think actual subframes are the same on hatch and estates, just the arms are different on estates to take the bigger callipers...

Looks like Im wrong according to citroen servie the saloon and estate subframes have different Part numbers...

5148 73 for saloon and shows the braket welded on...

5148 72 for estate WITH NFP on it... also the braket in the same place

Series One cars have the SAME part numbers listed for them, so they never changed from S1 to S2 which is what I thought.

Estate frame...S2

Estate frame S1

Hope it helps..... Probably not.. :?

I can assure you there is no welded bracket on my estate rear subframe to accommodate an Hydractive electrovalve. The drawing is simply wrong; there is no "Australia only" subframe - they have carried the images over without airbrushing...

I suspect the estate subframe is just a heavier duty unit (hence it should respond OK to Activation). However for now I just want to get the Hydractive bit sorted...

Thats right adam the brackets are not there on non hydractive cars.. its welded on as and when a subframe is fitted to an hydracrive car.. but what i was saying is the rear hydractive layout is the same on ALL cars right through the Xantia production life...estate or hatch...

Silly question maybe, but what are you trying to do that requires the photos ? Are you trying to retrofit Hydractive 2 on an Estate without it ?
