Do the mirrors bend back?

Only my Ford Connect van I can happily brush down the side of the vehicle, pushing back the mirror to make way. No problem.

But can this be done on the C5 with its fancy fold-away electrically jobbies?

I'd hate to try it to find one snap off.

You should be able to just fold them back, the folding motor will be disengaged. Or that is how it works on the earlier C5s.

Didn't really want to try, Chris - we were on the ferry out and the space was dead tight and when about to get to French soil we were in the car and a rather large lady, shall we say, needed to get past, I ended up doing some weird locking of doors to get the mirrors in to allow her to pass.

Needless to say the alarm went off while we were in the car!

Don't the mirrors fold when the switch is in the middle and moved back for some seconds? So you don't have to lock and unlock
