custom silencer.

hi, is it possible to make a custom silencer beacause my xantia's already produce loud sounds (not sporty sound though )
will it effect on performance? because i've sent my car for a check at some exhaust specialist shop and they say it can be custom made.
please advice.

A custom made exhaust can be made without hassle by a lot of places, and you can have any spec you want, you could have it made to be just a quiet as original equipment or you could have something really loud and unbaffled, steel or stainless the choice is yours, you wont see any increase in performance though.

so it wont bother with performance? afraid it will decrease accelration etc. :s

No It wont make any difference at all, why do they want to custom make it though, you will get a good value Bosal system straight off the shelf for a Xantia or do you want it to sound a bit noisier?

thats exactly my problem! they dont have proper exhaust for xantia in my country.
but they said it can be custom made perfectly for my xantia though..

Oh i see, well then yes a custom section can be made to your requirements no problems at all and would be the way to go.

ive changed the exhaust to custom one. but sometimes had a hard time to get the engine started. maybe because of the exhaust is not proper for the car?

Not thought of ordering one mail order online then? and having it fitted locally.

i just found out from a friend there might be a shop that may supply exhaust suitable for xantia. might take a look there later.
