Xantia woes

Post by Xantianut »

Ay up!

In a rare bit of forward planning I was wondering how often decent Xantia interors come up for grabs - leather preferred but not essential - and guide prices. Any advice gratefully received.

I have also lost my alloy wheel key #-o  . The wheels are from a 2000 (ish) Xsara and use the nuts that came with them. The key has four pegs on the cardinal points like this:

Can anyone help? [-o<

Leather seems to come up fairly often XN.. I have a feeling the electric leather needed for your car* may even be available in cream, although quite rare..

*(I am assuming your car is fairly recent, but it may not be)

There are 3 types of seats for Xant.. >97 97-98 and 98> approximately..

I lost my alloy key, and in the end bit the bullet and hammered a socket on.. it worked for me.. wasn't easy to do but needs must.. saying that, your locking bolt is a different type.. could be worth a less invasive approach...

She's actually a 1993 base model with a very ratty interior. Over the next few months, I'll be sorting the dents and paintwork so a better interior would be nice.

Is it poss to fit the leather covers over an existing frame?

Ay up!

No worries re the wheel bolt remover. I'll have to get violent with the bolts and get me some replacement security bolts. That'll be a game and a half.....

As for the leather, I'll put in a want ad when the time comes.

Many thanks.

That kind of locker can often be got out fairly easily using a reverse flute socket indented for the removal of badly rounded-off nuts. Irwin make a kit of them in various sizes..

This is one, shown in use...

I have used one on an identical wheelbolt with perfect success...

Ay up, Citroenxm!

You have my full and undivided attention.

We will be heading for our little hideaway in Snowdonia in about 5 weeks time. Only question is, how much?
