1976 CX Pallas

Unread post by buckpeters »

I have just bought a 1976 2200 4 speed manual CX Pallas to do up and I know nothing about them. I just fell in love with them after seeing a youtube video. It's in really bad shape as far as neglect goes but should do up well. How do I get info on restoring them? Cheers peterbuck!

Hello! I'm by no means an expert in any field relating to restoration - or indeed the finer points of CXs - but I've just spent a year restoring my CX with a mate. To some, I'm sure it's much easier but to us it has been a frightening process! But we did it properly, right down to the detail and now have an almost roadworthy CX!

There are however far more clever people than I, with way more wisdom and many of them will be at a CX rally near Milton Keynes in early September. Guess I speak for others here by recommending you visit (it's a field full of really friendly, helpful and passionate Citroen nuts) on one of the days, as personally I could never have sorted my car without their help and advice. Great bunch of people and it's always good to see well-cared-for CXs! Ie: How yours will look one day!!!

Hi and Welcome to the world of CX Ownership - there's no going back now...

Sounds an interesting car Peter - any more information about it? Nice to hear of an early Series 1 car.

What sort of information do you need regarding restoration? Here's how Fil restores his CXs, although not everyone does it that way!

Any pictures of your CX?

Thanks for the videos! They were great. I have just moved the car to a mates farm where I can pull it apart slowly and restore it, I am going to take photos as I go so I know how parts go back together. Cheers
